Acne Blemish TreatmentAn acne blemish treatment doesn't have to be a hugely complex process or product. In fact, the most effective acne blemish treatment for many people is to simplify a cleansing regimen. Along with the application of certain essential oils known to support and cleanse the skin, one may find that throwing out all the commercial can products and reverting to an all natural approach may be the best and easiest approach to take. To begin with, instead of using your regular cleansing procedure, try substituting cleansing with a simple soap. The main underlying cause of all types of acne is bacteria that are allowed to fester in oil that is trapped beneath the surface dead skin cells. In order to clear up acne, this root cause must be dealt with in an effective manner. Using a simple soap will break up the oil in these areas. This will clear the affected regions of bacterial growth, as well as discourage future growth. This is the main way that you can help treat and keep future acne breakouts from occurring. So why doesn't simple washing always work for treating acne? The reason for this is quite simple as well. Though many people will find that following a basic cleansing regimen, and not using harsh acne cleansers and astringents, will greatly improve their acne, there is still another factor which must be addressed. For the soapy solution to penetrate and break up oil stores, the surface layer of dead skin must be removed to expose these underlying areas. For this end, one should employ the aid of a gentle exfoliation procedure and substance. You can make your own exfoliation mixtures using all-natural ingredients, or purchase commercially prepared ones. Though there are several commercially prepared exfoliation products that claim to be all natural, most of them are not completely non-synthetic. I recommend making your own. It's less expensive, easier to customize to your specific needs and much better for your skin as well. You can make a basic sugar scrub using one part sugar to roughly two parts carrier oil. You can also add some skin supporting essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus, cedarwood or patchouli. Though you may be wary of using such an oily exfoliation mixture, oil is a very effective natural skin cleanser. You can also make a salt scrub in the same proportions, using sea salt or even table salt in place of sugar. Salt scrubs are better for use on the body than on the face. Especially if you have broken or irritated skin, a salt scrub can be irritating. Sugar scrubs, on the other hand, will not produce any stinging sensations. You can also add a bit of borax or liquid soap to your salt or sugar scrub mixture to help break up the oil part of your scrub mixture. I prefer to leave this out, as I feel that the oil is a more effective cleanser without this addition. Of course everyone is different. You should try this ingredient addition yourself to see what it does for you.
